We are a Charity!
We are a registered charity and affiliated to the Pre-School Learning Alliance. Being a charitable organisation, we are managed by a committee of parents/carers. We always welcome your support and some of the ways to do this are;
Home from home environment
At Sunflower Seed we would like to reassure you that all children will feel safe, secure and cared for in our home from home environment. Every child will receive the individual attention that is needed to support them in their learning and development.
Introducing 30 hour funding
To be eligible for the 30 hours funding both parents must be working or the sole parent working in a lone parent family. Each parent has to be earning a minimum of £115.00 per week (equivalent to 16 hours on national living wage) and no more than £100,000 per year.
We maintain contact with families well beyond their children’s stay in our nursery and hold daily after school clubs to help parents. We offer this service for children and their parents throughout their school terms.
We provide the best, safest and most stimulating learning environment possible for our children so that parents have complete peace of mind when they leave their children in our care.
We are a non-profit making setting and run by a committee which consists of parents and carers of attending children.
Meet the Team
Led by an experienced manager, staff turnover is infrequent, with many staff having been at Sunflower Seed for over 5 years.
Sunflower Seed needs you
New Committee Member Required
Sunflower Seed is a registered charity and the setting is run by a Voluntary Management Committee is currently made up of parents and parents of former children who attend the setting. The Committee plays a significant role in the setting as a registered charity without it Sunflower Seeds would not be functioning.
The activities that the Committee support are many and varied to ensure the smooth running of Sunflower Seed these may include:

Our approach is a collaborative style where we empower the Nursery Manager and team to deliver all the operational aspects of the setting whilst leaving more of the strategic and Governance activities to the Committee. We have a strong team partnership style to ensure the success of Sunflower Seed and along the way we have fun whilst volunteering!
In addition to the regular activities the Committee are currently leading the design and delivery of the new build project for Sunflower Seed.
